Manager Log Book Support

On Homebase Plus plan, unlock the Manager Log Book feature allowing owners and managers to document and communicate pertinent information, sales and labor data, and more around your business on a daily basis. Similarly, track daily metrics like the weather, sales, estimated labor, and estimated labor percentage all in one place.

Here’s how to create Manager Notes on Homebase:

1.) Log in with your owner or manager’s credentials at joinhomebase.com

2.) Select Manager Log on the left-hand navigation bar on the left.

3.) Edit the date at the top left using the arrows or clicking within the date box to edit.

4.) On this page, start typing in the “Add a note..” box.

5.) Once you are finished typing your note, select Save Note.

Search: Ability to search entire manager log history to find specific words or tags from any date.

Custom Board: Here is how to create a custom Board to keep notes organized and labeled by task or category:

1.) Click on Manager Log on the left-hand navigation bar.

2.) Under “Create a New Board” subheading, choose one of the Suggested Topics OR create your own.

2.) Once created, you are able to write new notes.

4.) On this page, start typing in the “Add a note..” box.

5.) Once you are finished typing your note, select Save Note.

Edit Board: Here is how to edit a Board name once already created:

1.) Click on Manager Log on the left-hand navigation bar.

2.) Next to the Board you would like to edit, click the pencil icon.

2.) Under Board Name, click and edit the name field.

4.) (Optional) You can also add a Board Description in the same section.

5.) Once you are finished editing Board name and adding a description, select Save.

Metrics: On the right side of the Manager Log page, weather, sales, estimated labor, and estimated labor percentage are tracked and documented for daily and future reference.

  • Sales- Sales for this day vs yesterday vs last week.
  • Est. Labor- Wages x hours worked  for this day vs yesterday vs last week.
  • Est. Labor Percentage- Wages as Percent of Sales vs yesterday.
  • Shifts- Total number of shifts for this day.
  • Hours- Total number of hours worked for this day.
  • Missed Breaks- Number of breaks not clocked-in/out for during employee shifts on this day.
  • Overtime- Any time over allotted (based on settings) for this day

Managers- A list of all managers on duty that day.

Longest shifts- A list of five longest shifts from that day.

Question: What if we delete a board?

Answer: The information is not lost. If there were notes from that board they will be searchable and view-able for the date where there were notes.

Question: Do managers get alerts if there are new notes posted?

Answer: Not at this time
