Even more control on paid time off and paid sick leave policies

    Insight into balance history

Now you can see a summary of changes in an employee’s PTO and paid sick leave balances like accruals, approved and edited requests, balance adjustments, and carryovers from the previous year. So if an employee has questions about his or her PTO balance, you can explain the balance by reviewing the balance history.

    Additional PTO policy settings

We’ve added two more policy settings so you can track PTO according to your business needs:

    • Anniversary accrual: Grant employees a fixed amount of PTO hours on the employee’s start date anniversary.
    • Waiting period: Set a buffer of time between the employee’s start date and when they can start accruing PTO.

All your payroll forms in one place

With the addition of direct deposit authorization and Form W-9 to the new hire onboarding tool, you can now have all payroll forms signed and stored in your Homebase account. New hires can fill out and e-sign payroll forms (W-4, W-9, direct deposit, and I-9), state specific forms, and custom documents (employee handbook, business policies, etc.). Signed documents are automatically stored in employee document storage.

With Form W-9, this also means you can create a contractor-specific packet and have your contractors sign their paperwork in Homebase.

Track paid time off and paid sick leave without a policy

If you don’t need to track balances but would like to include paid time off or paid sick leave requests in Homebase, you can do this without creating a policy. Owners and managers can use this information to make scheduling easier and bring clarity on timesheets. It’ll also be shown on the time off dashboard.

Employee balances will not be tracked. If you’d like to track paid time off or paid sick leave balances in Homebase, you’ll need to create PTO or Paid Sick Leave policies for your employees.

    • Use new accrual methods: Accrue by employee tenure and by pay period.
    • Require sufficient balances for employees to be able to request PTO.
    • Add additional policy settings, such as carryover limit and negative balance prevention.

    Onboard new hires with ease

Homebase customers can now set up a new hire packet that is automatically sent to new employees, making it easier to manage new hire paperwork. New employees can enter their information and e-sign or acknowledge the documents within the packet, and these documents are automatically stored in your account’s document storage.

The new hire packet includes government forms (W-4, I-9, and state tax forms) and custom documents (welcome letter, employee handbook, etc.).

Manage employee documents in your Homebase account

With document storage, you can securely store government forms and custom documents for each employee in one place, allowing you to reduce the amount of paper you need to hold on.

Documents from your new hire packet are automatically stored here, and you can upload completed documents. If you have an updated employee handbook or a new business policy, you can send them to existing employees to e-sign or acknowledge.

Make sure your entire team sees the important announcements

Keep your team safe and healthy during COVID-19

Homebase customers can set up a health and safety screener consisting of Yes/No questions. Your team can complete the health and safety screening questions when clocking in on mobile and tablet time clocks. If there are any issues with the responses, managers will be notified. Managers can also access a daily health screening report to see all employee responses.
