Homebase merchants on the Plus plan can now approve and lock timesheets for payroll.

Once a time card is approved, it is “locked” from future edits – only managers with permission can edit approved time cards. 

Enabling Timesheet Approvals

First, make sure the timesheet approval feature is enabled. Only Plus tier merchants have access to the timesheet approval feature.

Timesheet approvals can be enabled under Time Clock & Timesheets settings.

Approving Timesheets

  1. Visit the timesheets tab of your Homebase web dashboard
  2. Select the date period you wish to approve timesheets for
  3. Click the Approve All button in the header to approve all timesheets for the period, OR
  4. Approve individual timesheets by going in to an employee’s detailed timesheets, selecting the checkbox within the row of each timesheet, and clicking the Approve button

If a manager tries to edit an approved time card, either on the web timesheets or Homebase time clock devices, they will receive a warning that they are trying to edit an already approved time card.
