JP started Vapor Haus in 2012, differentiating his business from other Chicagoland vape shops with a focus on excellent customer service.

The strategy worked well, and Vapor Haus earned a 4.5-star review average on Yelp.

The problem

Happy employees are critical to happy customers, and happy customers are critical to Vapor Haus’ success. JP needed an employee scheduling solution that could accommodate his employees’ flexible schedules and keep them driven to provide a superior customer experience.

Chicago’s seasons present their own scheduling challenges too: “Summer’s short here in Chicago. We have 88 days to party and then it’s frozen cold again. In those 88 days, there’s about 150 awesome events, concerts, street festivals — all of my employees wanted to go.”

How Homebase helped

Tired of wasting his own time scheduling everything on paper, JP tried several online scheduling programs before finding Homebase. Some lacked the scheduling features he needed, while others were just too clunky.
