How We Calculated Your Manager Stats

for the 2017 Homebase Year in Review

The total hours your team worked

To calculate your time tracked stats, we added up the duration (from start time to end time) of all timecards in 2017 for all individuals, across all locations of your business. We also subtracted out any breaks (paid or unpaid) that were recorded. Timecards that were missing a start time or end time were discarded, and only timecards that were less than 24 hours and breaks that were less than 6 hours were considered.

Your busiest day of the week

We counted up the day of the week with the most tracked hours worked, based on your timecards. Timecards were counted in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), not your local time zone, so day of the week may not be accurate in some situations, like if you run a bar with lots of nighttime shifts.

The number of employees you added this year

To calculate new jobs in 2017, we looked at when the jobs were added compared to their corresponding location. Any job that was created at least two weeks after the location was created was considered a new job (i.e. someone that was newly hired). This way, we can exclude most cases where your company starts tracking a new location in Homebase, but the individuals there aren’t “new” to your company. But if you opened a completely new location, and hired new employees to staff that location, those aren’t included here.

The employee that worked the most shifts

Similar to the total hours statistic, we added up the duration (from start time to end time) of all timecards in 2017 for all individuals, across all locations of the company. We also subtracted out any breaks (paid or unpaid) that were recorded. Timecards that were missing a start time or end time were discarded, and only timecards that were less than 24 hours and breaks that were less than 6 hours were considered. Using this criteria, we sorted by the employee who had the most shifts recorded.

The total number of messages sent

The number of messages sent by everyone on your team in 2017 using our in-app Messaging feature, whether it was to each other or responding to one of our automated messages.
