How do I set break options?

Homebase Break Settings
  1. Sign in to your Homebase account at
  2. Select Settings on the left side
  3. At the top of the page, in the purple bar, you will see Time Clock & Timesheets section
  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the Breaks section
  5. Homebase automatically populates the breaks required based on your State laws but you are able to customize these settings
  6. Type in the length of the break (in minutes)
  7. Select either Unpaid or Paid break
  8. Type in how often the employee has the option to take this break (in hours)
  9. Make sure the white box across from your break entry is green check-marked
  10. You have the option of having any unpaid breaks your employees are expected to take factor in to the hours and wage forecasting by checking the white box

To take a break, an employee will open the Homebase app on one of our POS partners or via the Homebase mobile app and key in their PIN. They will then be asked whether they want to go on break or clock out. The employee must then select the break they wish to take.

*Unpaid breaks will be removed from the scheduled hours totals on the schedule builder
